MISSION
The mission of The Contra Costa County Delta Stars Professional Basketball Organization is to support educational and athletic achievement in youth, promote cultural excellence, while showcasing the spirit and energy of our community.
The organization will celebrate diversity and create opportunity for our aspiring, hopeful youth. With a variety of programs on our agenda, we will effectively promote services, entertainment, workshops, exhibits and many other community events.

Turning a Vision into Reality
I am an avid sports fan, former student athlete and parent of athletes. My passion remains to be the mentoring and coaching of our youth and advising parents on how to navigate the process of education and athletics preparation at every level. I believe it’s important to demonstrate a commitment to integrity and desire to help athletes that have goals beyond their NCAA amateur status. Whether that next step is on the court as a professional athlete or in one of the many business capacities that are related to the “business of sports”.

Having experienced my own son’s pursuit of playing basketball on a professional level, I’ve seen firsthand, the questionable ethics and practices of many. These experiences motivated me to learn “the business of sports” and best practices, so when the time came…I could help someone.
I earned my B.A. in Communications/Broadcast Management from Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University), I am a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and Notary. Having worked as a lender and now a Realtor. I am also a substitute teacher…which has made me profoundly grateful for the jobs our educators do! I completed the rigorous Management Training Program with Enterprise, Inc., and the fantastic Athlete Management certificated program facilitated by SportsManagementWorldWide. Afterwards, so that I could gain hands on knowledge of the business, I became an Athlete Advisor with SMWW, where I have learned much and gained invaluable relationships.
Through SMWW, I have access to some of the great minds in the business of sports. If someone were to asked me, “Which course(s) to take to get started in addition to Athlete Management?”, that answer would be Analytics…next on my list! In 2017, I served as General Manager for the A.B.A. California Golden Tigers (Oakland), an opportunity that along with my previous experiences have brought me to my current goal of building a successful community based and supported professional Men’s basketball team, that will open up avenues of opportunity for many and bring affordable and exciting family entertainment to Contra Costa County. Our future goal with be to start the W.A.B.A., the Women’s American Basketball Association, in 2020. #WeAreCommunity #Build2Win!
Anita Doss
A native of the Bay Area having grown up in walking distance of the Oakland Coliseum.
As a youth she regularly attended the Warriors' games. In middle school she tried playing basketball, but lost interest quickly because of "all the running” but has remained a devoted fan of the game having watched legends Rick Berry, Jamaal Wilkes and the late Alvin Attles play the game.
A graduate of bay area basketball power house, Bishop O'Dowd High School, she attended every game. Anita earned her B.A. Degree from U.C. Berkeley and attended every game during her time there as a student.
She has raised her daughter and son in Contra Costa County (Antioch). She currently works for the Antioch Unified School District and has a home-based spa business.
She's excited about her newest role as Operations/Public Relations Manager for CCC Delta Stars and looks forward to the opportunity to help #Build2Win!
